"Spirit, Attitude, Technique" 

Sunrise Dojo has transitioned from Traditional Shotokan Karate, we are still keenly karate
orientated in many of our techniques.  Still utilising the powerful kicks, punches, and

stances etc. from the great style!

What is also taught?  The syllabus is heavily influenced by and draws from Karate, Boxing,
a touch of Ju Jitsu and more.  The Club will now be focused on teaching Self-Protection

with an increased focus on Fitness and Fun!

The classes will be fun and energetic and deliberately compact in number. We teach
“Escape to Safety!”  Where Juniors learn to fend off would-be threats, be smart and avoid

danger whilst benefiting from increased fitness, strength, and agility.

Sessions include Boxing pad-work, fitness circuits, Ju Jitsu releases, very basic mat work,

Karate power, avoidance techniques and much more!

​

​

Students wear loose-fitting comfortable workout clothes or a Gi, with clean indoor
trainers….and phew! No Formal Gradings.  However, to measure progress students will
have on-going assessments which also includes regular attendance criteria!
